Have I blown this out of proportion?

My husband, my 14 year old daughter (from a previous marriage) and I moved in with my husband's parents due to financial hardship about 1 week ago. My daughter feel asleep with THEIR t.v. on, it is in my daughters room. My husbands parents the next day went into her room and disconnected the t.v and the cable so that she does not use it. When it was brought to my attention I told my husband that I would correct the problem and tell my daughter not to be doing things like that. I told my daughter that we were quest in their home and she needed to respect their property along with not making to much noise throughout the night (like leaving the tv on all night) my daughter understood and said she was afraid at night to be in total darkness. I put in a night light and planned on removing my in-laws tv out of her bedroom and put her tv which is presently in storage. I don't have a problem with that. I am just sadden at the entire situation. Should I be feeling this way or am I blowing it out of proportion. Should they have gone into her room and done what they did?
